About Alterra Risk & Safety
Founder-Led. Field-Driven. Built for Real Job Sites.
Alterra Risk & Safety was created to address a common gap in construction safety: programs that look good on paper but don’t always work in the field.
Our work is grounded in more than two decades of hands-on construction experience, from active job sites and complex projects to senior safety leadership roles supporting general contractors, subcontractors, and project teams. We focus on practical, jobsite-ready safety solutions that help teams manage real risk without slowing work down or burying crews in unnecessary paperwork.
Alterra is led by a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) with deep experience designing and implementing safety systems across construction, utilities, manufacturing, and private communities. This background allows us to step in quickly, assess conditions accurately, and provide clear, prioritized guidance that project teams can actually use.
We work collaboratively with superintendents, project managers, and ownership to support existing safety efforts rather than disrupt them. Our role is to strengthen what’s already in place, reduce exposure, and help projects move forward safely and efficiently.
Who We Work With
We partner with general contractors, project managers, superintendents, and field leadership supporting commercial construction projects across Southern California — from smaller crews and tenant improvements to more complex, multi-trade environments.
Common project types include:
Tenant improvements, interior build-outs, selective demolition, and ground-up work
Active urban and occupied jobsites
Projects where practical, right-sized safety support is needed — not unnecessary bureaucracy
